P&R markers remain unique in the method of attachment to
the power lines with the
introduction of preform wrapping around the power line.
To our knowledge no marker attached with preform has
ever come off the line. P&R markers remain unique
in using Centrex ABS plastic in the sphere, stronger,
lighter and retaining color 10 - 15 times better than
fiberglass which fades after some time. When 20"
markers with flanges started to burn down when mounted
on energized lines at voltages above 162KV, P&R
introduced the 36" EHV [Extra High Voltage] with
conductive coating, creating a Faraday Cage effect where
the markers could be mounted on energized lines
including 500KV.
P&R has advanced the technology of lighted markers on
catenary lines, introducing neon PowerLITE cylindrical
lights and Xenon flashing SpanFLASH spherical lighted
markers which can be seen by pilots at night at
distances of 4000 feet. Lighted markers can be
steady white or flashing white, and drawing the
operating power directly from the power lines
themselves.
P&R
introduced
the long lasting LED [Light Emitting Diode], FAA and
ICAO approved, steady burning PRL-810 obstruction light
and flashing PRL-864 flashing beacon for identifying
obstacles that might be dangerous to flying planes and
helicopters. Models PRL-810 and PRL-864 last 5 -
10 times as long as incandescent lights, saving
utilities massive amounts of maintenance in sending
crews out to change incandescent bulbs once or twice a
year. LED lights are guaranteed for 5 years.
P&R is introducing the TowerLITE, where lights, neon,
can be put on the top o utility poles and operated by
capacitance from the FieldCON condenser/amplifier placed
at an appropriate distance from energized lines of 69KV
to 500KV.
P&R is offering the unique BirdMARK, attached to the
line with SnapFAST clamps, which warn birds of the
presence of power lines. The SnapFAST is also
offered with flag, sign and marker options.
P&R expanded into industrial sales with the introduction
of the Xercon line of pulsed infrared photoelectric
limit switches, terribly reliable and a diversified line
at low cost. Then came the L3 Communications PalmIR250
lines of night vision Infrared Cameras so that Police
could see people hiding in the bushes 2200 feet away in
the dead of night.
P&R will continue to develop and bring to the utility
and industrial markets new, unique and reliable products
that save customers money and advance the technologies.
